Standard Superior rooms measure 39 square meters. The Premium Level categories go further: an Oceanfront Junior Suite of 55 square meters with a terrace, a Swim-Up Junior Suite with a hot tub on the terrace and direct pool access, and an Oceanfront Suite of 133 square meters. The swim-up suites reach the pool and facilities of Barceló Maya Palace. Premium Level also brings room service, premium drinks and access to the spa's hydrotherapy area.
Three restaurants belong to the hotel: a grill, an à la carte restaurant and a buffet, with brunch and snack options by the pool. Across the Grand Resort there are eight specialty restaurants, and the Maya Mall holds shops from local boutiques to luxury brands.
Children head for the Pirates Island water park, the Barcy Water Park of slides and waterfalls, or the 18-hole mini-golf course (the water parks carry an extra charge). A bowling alley is open 24 hours. Adults have the U-Spa, also at an extra charge, and aquatic activities run on the sea.
Cancún airport is 48 miles away. It suits families who want waterslides and bowling within walking distance of the sand, and couples who book a swim-up suite.
