The pool area has spaces for adults and children, with children's pools that have slides and an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar. Evenings bring a full entertainment program with nightly shows, and RIU Party themed nights take place at the Hotel Riu Tequila for guests of all the RIU hotels in Playa del Carmen.
There are three room types. The Double Standard is 29 square metres with a balcony or terrace, and connecting standard doubles let a family take two rooms side by side. The Jr. Suite is 48 square metres, with a 200 by 200 bed or two 125 by 200 beds, a sofa bed in the living area, a dressing room and a large balcony or terrace.
Five restaurants cover the day. The Palms is the main buffet for all three meals, with live cooking, two themed nights a week and a terrace with sea views. Jade is an Asian buffet, Traviata does Italian with a lunch buffet and a dinner menu, and Turquesa runs as a buffet for lunch and snacks and a steakhouse at night. Pepe's Food is the grill at lunchtime. Four bars cover the rest.
